Reveal: Our Wedding Venue- Mama's Fish House

By now, you may have already figured out where we are getting married on Maui. We gave you a big hint when we had our cake tasting. We pretty much flat out told you it was at Mama's Fish House. Yes, really. We are getting married at Mama's Fish House! Yes, we are as excited, even more so actually, as you!

We will be having an early morning beach ceremony at Kuau Cove. This will be followed by our morning cocktail hour for guests while the two of us enjoy a little time alone while we have our pictures taken to capture those precious just married moments. Our lunch reception will, of course, take place at the restaurant at Mama's Fish House. Double YUM!

We couldn't be happier with this location. When we visited our venue, we thought if we had built it ourselves, we couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect place for the two of us to get married. Let the pictures speak for themselves and check out what we are talking about:

Destination: Maui Part 2

When we last left you on the beautiful island of Maui, the bride and groom still didn't have a venue picked out for their wedding. They had looked at plenty of  Maui venues, but none of them fit what they were looking for. What were a bride and groom to do next?

After we'd looked at all of these venues we were feeling a bit discouraged that we weren't going to be able to find what we were looking for on Maui. However, we now had a better idea of what we weren't and were looking for.

With so much beauty on Maui, why were we having such a hard time finding the right location for our wedding?

Destination: Maui

I'm a water baby. To the core. I was born with the river in my backyard and lived on the Hawaiian islands when I was younger. I just can't get enough of the water. I'm also a beach baby. I LOVE the beach and can literally spend all day just laying and swimming at the beach. I love vintage Hawaiiana and all things tropical.

Once Drew and I realized that we weren't going to be able to have the wedding of OUR dreams in Portland, we knew we wanted to go somewhere tropical. But, where? We actually looked into Mexico for a bit because we thought it was going to be cheaper than Hawaii. Once we crunched numbers we realized it wasn't.

Once decided, we never thought twice about not having our wedding on Maui. We knew that was the perfect place to have our destination wedding. I particularly did. (See first paragraph.) The one setback was knowing that not all of our family would be able to attend. To make it up to them, we decided to have a very small intimate wedding on Maui and hold a second reception at home in Portland, Oregon.
