Taking the idea of our destination wedding welcome bags to a new level, we decided to do Maui Christmas gift bags as presents this year. That way people could start experiencing the islands now and we hoped that it would get them even more excited about visiting Maui in July. At the very least, they got some of our favorite Hawaiian goodies!
First we started off by having reusable canvas shopping bags printed up with our wedding logo at VistaPrint. They were a great price and they turned out really nice. An even better price considering we had another VistaPrint Groupon to use for them. We got one for ourselves, as well.

Next we purchased all kinds of great items from the Hawaiian Islands for the bags. We catered each bag depending on who we were giving it to. That way if someone didn’t eat something, like bananas (that would be me!), then we didn’t put it in their bag. Some of the items we purchased for the bags were:
Hawaiian Sun Juices
Moana Loa Macadamia Nuts
Li Hing Mui Plums
See Mui Plums
Hawaiian Host Chocolate Covered Macadamia Nuts
Haw Flakes
Hawaiian Bath and Body Soaps and Lip Balms
Kona Brewing Company Beer
Hurricane Popcorn
Hawaiian Sweet Maui Onion Potato Chips
T-Shirts with our wedding logo
100% Kona Coffee
Hello Kitty Pineapple Marshmellows
Tomoe Ame Rice Candy
Coffee mugs with our wedding logo
Just a few of the yummy samplings we put in the Hawiian Christmas bags. {Collage made by me with photos from the sites listed above.} |
We also included seastar ornaments with a mini luggage tag that I made attached to them. That way after they'd eaten all of the Hawaiian eats and the wedding was over, everyone would still have a little something to keep.

What did our friends and family think of the Hawaiian Christmas gift bags we gave them? They loved them! We highly recommend doing something like this for your wedding guests.
Did you do anything special with your Christmas gifts to have them connected to your wedding in some way?
